Videos and Animations

As part of my teaching, I occasionally create animations and visualizations that are meant to help students understand a concept in the digital humanities. I also create technical tutorials for programming for digital research. You can find them collected here.

Hacking the Humanities Tutorial Series

In this video series, I cover all of the code that we discuss in my introduction to the digital humanities course at Leiden University. You can find all of the videos in this playlist.

Stylometry, Genre, and PCA

In this animation, I describe how stylometry and PCA can be used to study a corpus of texts.  While I focus on Chinese texts, these methods are broadly applicable to works in any language. This animation is meant to be used as as pedagogical tool and was created entirely using Processing 3.
